Otazu has started competing and is sired by the legendary Totilas, a horse resposible for changing the course of the dressage sport - He set three world records, which he then went on to break again and again. Within the space of only two years, the incredible Totilas won every conceivable title including two time Individual Gold and a Team Gold at the World Championships, Individual and Team Gold at the European Championships and was also the Winner of the coveted World Cup. He has sired over 50 licensed stallions, including the likes of Total US, Governor, Total Hope and Total jr (all of which are also competing at Grand Prix).

Dam sire, Cadans M, is a beautifully modeled stallion by the Reserve World Champion 5-year-old, Sir Donnerhall, who headed the FN list of young dressage horses in Germany.

Otazu's dam line is also of significant interest, His dam, G-Daula, is a Sister to the Licensed Stallion "For Gribaldi" as well as EHL Daula II , Who under Demi Haerkens took 3 gold medals away from the European Para championships in Riesenbeck, Germany and, at the time of writing this, is preparing to travel the Olympic Games in Paris.
